Audience response systems (ARS) represent one approach to make lectures more active. This systematic review examines the effect of ARS on learning outcomes in medical education. The analysis of the results of 21 included studies suggests the effectiveness of ARS in improving learning outcomes, especially when compared to non-interactive sessions.
