How to Assess Doctors and Health Professionals

Authors: Mike Davis, Kristy Forrest, Judy McKimm.
Wiley-Blackwell, 2013

Assessment is as important to medical education as teaching, and should be an integral part of the educational process. This book of the series “How to…” (it complements How to Teach Continuing Medical Education, previously discussed in this blog – see post of October 2010) intends to help medical educators with useful tips and recommendations about a variety of assessment tools, such as E-assessment, Feedback, Portfolios, etc. It also includes principles of assessment and programmatic assessment.

Each chapter has well-defined learning outcomes, including activities and useful references. The book is succinct (les than 160 pages) and very practical.

You can buy this article in amazon.com (Kindle edition U$S 23.65, Paperback U$S 39.95) or through Wiley (Paperback U$S 39.95, E-book U$S 31.99).

I have no financial interests on this recommendation. (GP)
